about

This song was written after a road trip to L.A. for my brother's wedding. It was a long drive. Not as long as others I'ave made, though. I hate bathroom stalls without doors. It's ridiculously awful to sit and just wait for someone to walk up while you're doing the biz.

lyrics

There were no doors on the stalls,
so I used the women's restroom.
I went in with my mother and then waited for my brother
to make sure he'd not been hurt
by the man without a shirt,
(and the swastika across his chest.
His head was shaved and he was covered up in ink)
but he minded his own business,
and my brother walked away.
The rolling hills were very tempting.
If I could only make it down...

If I could make it to the steeple,
would my heart be filled with love
midst the burning of Los Angeles,
here my brother would be wed...?
