Are We Sold?
02:17
|
|||
Is it Bilderberg?
Is it secret?
Do they seek to get gain at your expense?
Do they whisper their secret words
in the telephone?
Or is it not safe?
What do they have to say that cannot take the risk
of one set of ears?
And I can't even get started on suckers
who are easily bought
and sell you from yourselves.
Our children
walking around with guns
and losing all their limbs
have nightmares in the dark
and marching them along
so far after the fact:
the debt that we incurred.
And these companies know that this is wrong
and reserve the right
to change their policies
and not tell anyone,
"It's all been subsidized."
It's all just politics.
The leeches are numbing the pain,
and now they're getting fat
on the blood beneath your clothes.

The Steeple
02:29
|
|||
There were no doors on the stalls,
so I used the women's restroom.
I went in with my mother and then waited for my brother
to make sure he'd not been hurt
by the man without a shirt,
(and the swastika across his chest.
His head was shaved and he was covered up in ink)
but he minded his own business,
and my brother walked away.
The rolling hills were very tempting.
If I could only make it down...
If I could make it to the steeple,
would my heart be filled with love
midst the burning of Los Angeles,
here my brother would be wed...?

The Mission

I'm not coming home. My brother's home and I'm driving up to meet him in the morning. And we'll sit and talk about all the people we have known, how they all have gotten older and moved away.
I'm not coming home. My brother's home and I'm driving up to meet him in the morning. And we'll sit and talk about all the places we have been, and the light that is inside of our minds. And we'll sit and talk about where we plan to go from here. And we'll laugh as expectations drift away.
I'm not coming home. My brother's home and I'm driving up to meet him in the morning.

The Farce
02:55
|
|||
You're beautiful without your makeup on.
To see your face not done up like an aged whore...
The farce can't touch the freckles on your face.
They spread across your cheekbones
And down your neck
And they go down to your arms
And they grow in the sun.

Evelyn
02:20
|

Oh, Evelyn.
Your face is sunshine.
Your eyes are cloudy from the rain that covers your mind.
And your smile, and upturned rainbow,
Your teeth as diamonds in its rays,
they sparkle on.
My sister,
I miss you.

Whatever You Need
05:17
|
|||
In the morning time, where did you go, my dear?
When the springtime comes, out on my window sill
Is the place where you will find me waiting for your kind eyes.
And my frosty bones will thaw themselves in the morning sun.
I love you.
Did you know that?
In the springtime when we met, I did cry myself to sleep.
When my mother called, I did talk with her
And then things were tumbling.
And you packed up your things.
I thought, "This time, I will not fight."
When the children come to your room,
I will sit in awe and wonder.
When the family comes over for dinner,
At your right hand I will be
For whatever you need.
